I love a bit of quirkiness and for these pots I wanted add something a little different for a handle. So naturally…tortoise.
To make this, I made a closed form once it was thrown on the wheel. I created an area where I knew I wanted to separate a lid. The tortoise was hand built and detail etched in before being stuck on the lid with slip.
